What Makes A Wrestling Girly Pop?
HI! How are you, girly pop?
It’s the weirdo, Lola J here! Very excited that this blog is launched and we have this place to express ourselves and chat.
Today’s topic is What Makes A Wrestling Girly Pop. I believe this is an important topic for everyone to feel included and to understand this movement we’re trying to create here.
So what makes A Wrestling girly pop?
I believe that a wrestling girly pop is where Pro Wrestling meets a love for femininity and female culture. Since Pro Wrestling at its core SHOULD be inclusive, meaning for everyone. ALL genders and people. No matter how you identify.
But what is a girly pop in itself?
According to Google and WikiHow “Girlypop is an internet slang term referring to a stereotypically feminine person. A compound of “girly” and “pop,” girlypop is often used to refer to people who are very bubbly, fun, and stereotypically girly and cutesy.”
But a girly pop doesn’t always mean you NEED to love pink, pearls, sparkles and heels. Personally, I’m not a pinky, neutral, quintessential bubble gum princess kind of person. I gravitate more towards black, eyeliner and punk couture. Although since starting this venture I am open to a pop of color.
Seriously, I’m pretty grungy in real life 🖤☾🔪
So don’t think you have to “fit in” to be a wrestling girly pop. What’s really required is to enjoy professional wrestling. Doesn’t matter if it’s WWE, AEW, Lucha Libre, Puroresu (プロレス ) or anything in between. I want the wrestling girly pops to love pro wrestling, especially Women’s and LGBTQ+ wrestling.
A wrestling girly pop is also respectful of others and creates a save space for wrestlers and fans alike. So no making anyone uncomfortable with anything crude or stupid. Doesn’t mean we can’t use colorful language because honey we can still have fun but we don’t insult people, hurt anyone or shun those who you think aren’t valid because of their gender or sexuality. Not every girly pop identifies as a woman or is cisgender so I want this to be as inclusive as possible because as a female member of the queer community, that’s very important to me.
so be kind and be you!
Throw glitter in the air! Love the TNA Knockouts, WWE Divas of the past and Joshi Wrestlers in Japan! Just LOVE pro wrestling!
I’m serious about the glitter… lol
I think that wraps up this post. I really want us girly pops who love wrestling to enjoy this space so use the hashtag #forthewrestlinggirlypops to join the movement and conversation.
That’s all for now girlies,
Too Sweet, Weirdos!
