It Takes A Dream in Pro Wrestling

Hey Wrestling Girly Pops!

Gothicc Carrie Bradshaw here reporting from my messy apartment in Central Florida, caffeinated on Dr Pepper. LOL

Today I want to talk about dreams. Since as cliché as it sounds, pro wrestlers all start off with a dream. To get in shape, to get in that ring, to preform in front of a crowd and even to win a championship in a wrestling promotion.

But what makes a dream more than just that?

Wrestlers like Kenny Omega, Roxanne Perez, CM Punk and Mercedes Moné all started with a dream. They wondered and dreamt, awake and asleep, to get in the ring and make that dream become an achievable goal.

But how do we break down those dreams into bite size goals?

Dreams don’t work unless you do

— John C. Maxwell

Well as someone who was in the wrestling ring for 2.2 seconds I can tell you from my experience that it takes believing in yourself and a little bit of magic. Yes, magic. Now I don’t want to lose you here. You might be thinking this is woo woo BS spirituality but I mean that inner fire that makes you passionate about life and what you deem important. It’s all about truly believing you can. Without that, what do you have?

Take “Switchblade” Jay White for an example. The man literally moved from New Zealand to England to chase a wrestling dream! Insane. He didn't tell anyone he was going to be a pro wrestler until it was a done deal. Crazy! Then to go into the New Japan Pro Wrestling Young Lion System is a whole other type of dedication. You can see this twinkle in his eye when he cuts a promo of true belief in himself. I remember after 2021’s Wrestle Kingdom 15 where you could tell this wasn’t a normal post-match promo where he specifically said he was talking as himself. As Jaime. And you could tell the confidence he has in himself outweighed what anyone else or any company has in him. Because your dreams are your responsibility and no one is going to do them for you.

But want a girlier example? 🎀 Chelsea Green. This girly pop worked harder than anyone else believed she could, especially after getting eliminated from tough enough. She did such cool things she details in the interview below like Lucha Underground, TNA Knockouts champion and even stunt double work.

Now she’s the inaugural and longest reigning WWE women’s United States champion. She got there because she made her dreams into an achievable goal. And you can do that too.

Side Note: Adore Delano is forever my mood.

But realistically this has been how I've been feeling and I can’t be the only girly pop out there feeling like that Plastic Bag in a Katy Perry Song.

I write this post because my dreams in recent times have been tested so I’m going back to what I love to inspire and reinvigorate my spirit. Because I know what I want in life, I just need to figure out how to get there.

But what about YOU? What do you what in life? Do you want to be in the wrestling business or something different?

Leave it in the comments below or contact me on social media. We could all use some motivation now and again.

Thats all for now my beautiful wrestling girly pops!

Let’s keep the conversation rolling because remember, this is a safe space.

Lots of love 🖤🎀
