It’s Wrestlemania Season… LFG
Hey girlies! Welcome to the road to Wrestlemania! We’ve finally got there. The countdown is complete. Let the majestic sign pointing commence!
So first thing is first… who won the WWE 2025 women’s royal rumble and was it for the wrestling girly pops?
It was a controversial finish to be honest!
Your winner is…. * drumroll please *
Charlotte Flair
Now this wasn’t a bad choice in the grand scheme of things. Obviously she’s seasoned, well traveled and very talented. The problem the majority of the girlies are having is that there was barely if not no build up. Granted, Char was out with injury for a year and rehabbed her butt off to get back into the ring and that is very tough. So it had the potential to be a great comeback story but people weren’t buying it.
Women like Iyo Sky were the favorite to win the match. And the problem wasn’t necessarily that she didn’t win. It’s the way she was eliminated. Nia Jax eliminated a bunch of girls at one and you couldn’t really tell who was there and it felt kind of lazy and like an after thought. You can build up a bad guy or heel without having to put down the other competitors too much especially if they are fan favorites.
To touch on the rest of the match:
The NXT picks were fabulous. Roxanne was a repeat of previous years and actually lasted until the end! That’s huge for Rox and her inevitable rise to the main roster. Lash Legend, Jaida Parker, Stephanie Vaquer and the NXT Women’s Champion Giulia also shined in the match. Personally, I was expecting Sol Ruca to show up but hey, there’s always next year so that’s okay. There was also some discourse as to why Jakara Jackson wasn’t chosen but I thought it would have been a bit predictable to have her and Lash together in a match when it’s everyone for themselves.
It was thought that it was going to be a move Diva Era focused Royal Rumble with rumblings of Layla, Michelle McCool and AJ Lee showing up. Although that wasn’t the case, there was one Superstar from that time that had all the Diva Stans screaming…
Miss Nikki Bella! It was so good to see her in the ring again and interact with the girls like Roxanne Perez but what was really heartwarming was when Michael Cole on commentary called her “one of the most courageous women on the planet.” Very sweet.
Also for the surprise entrances was one that was unexpected. Alexa Bliss back as a full time WWE Superstar. With a mix of all her past gimmicks, she is here and was very excited to be there.
To wrap up the Royal Rumble, it was good. Would I say it was the best in history? Not really but it was solid and is setting up feuds to the road to Wrestlemania. And also, did you see that Jordynne Grace bought a legit plane ticket elsewhere to distract from the fact she was going to WWE? Wild.
Which brings me to what’s next.
Well Charlotte announced who she is facing at the show of shows.

WWE Women's Champion Tiffany Stratton
Also the Elimination Chamber is soon to see who will challenge for the women’s world championship. But there’s a twist… will the champion be Rhea Ripley or Iyo Sky? They have a match for the title coming up so that’s exciting. At the time I’m writing this the final qualifiers match for the chamber hasn’t happened and it will either be Rox or Raquel Rodriguez in the final spot.
